This one was a composite of the four above with two filters added: posterize and watercolor.

playing with gradients
I saw this tutorial at the Daily Digi and had to play. Using the Photoshop Elements gradient tool and levels adjustments, you can create all kinds of artsy fun.
A fun way to avoid grading papers! When I turn in my grades ... I'll be free!

That was fun! I'm not smart enough for Photoshop, but can do a little of that kind of thing (not as good) with Picassa, which is 1000 x easier! Sometimes I play with it, but not usually satilsfied!
That looks like fun! I like what you've done and wonder if I could navigate the intricacies of photoshop. It certainly looks like it would be worth my effort!
Sylvia, I don't think PSE has the "composite" tool or technique. What I did was to use blending on each later to create what I called a composite.
Sallie, I agree that Picasa is easier. My post next week will be collages created in Picasa.
Pondside and Lorrie, even those Photoshop is challenging - there is a LOT it can do, I find working (aka playing) in it so much fun. I took a course at the local adult high school to get the basics. That was helpful to launch me into the artsy part which I love.
