I had a couple of "free" hours today so I turned to one of the pages of Collage Journeys and chose to make an 'overall collage' to be used for ATCs and/or greeting cards.
Using 140lb watercolor paper, I did a color wash with acryllic paint. I think this helps create a texture that supports glue well, plus there will be color if all sections aren't covered with collage papers.
I then glued down various papers to the support.
Papers I used: wrapping paper, paper that comes with a bouquet of flowers, painted paper towel, tissue, handmade, newspaper, painted canvas, paper doily, ticket stub, and a parking lot ticket.
When it was dry, I cut it up into 2.5x3.5 size, working from the back so I wouldn't see how the design. I prefer the randomness of the process rather than using a view finder to find interesting designs.
And now I have 20 small format cards to work with. How fun! All ready for the next free time.

That is so cool! I am enticed to try this myself. Wonderful randomness.
Thanks for sharing this! I love seeing what other people do with the processes that I use. The piece looks really fun and exciting.
