As we leave summer behind, I pulled together these three pieces for a series called "Fragments of Summer." Included are photos, epherma from the Chinese restaurant where we like to take our granddaughter, sand, and shell fragments collected at the beach. Also represented is the music of the sound of waves hitting the shoreline, birds that come to visit the backyard, the colors of summer. This was a fun project. Starting with painted lutradur as the background, I added photos printed on organza, images, collaged papers, beading, and hand and machine stitching to tell the story. They will be a nice reminder of summer 2008.
