fabric colorful connections

This has been a fun series to work on. I started out following the directions of Jane LaFazio (blogged here).

#1

#2

then I took it in a different direction ...
#3

#4

#2, 3 and 4 are attached to canvas. I think next up is a larger quilt wall hanging. I love the color, working with fabric, hand stitching and embellishments (beads and buttons).

Oh Jan! The way you have taken Jane's idea and made it your own is truly part of finding your Artist Voice! I love them from right from one fuzzy edge to the other. That particular post on recovery from perfectionism resonated with me . . . loosening up after a lifetime of what? Getting the job right? Trying hard in everything? When did it begin?

And I too am finding it difficult to settle into finding what I want to do, how I want to express my Self. I want to try everything, do everything, do it now and perfectly! HA! And what's more, there is so MUCH to do that I find myself frozen. Ah to be semi-retired and have more time so I can devote more energy to playing/working on it! Soon :)
