Digi Painting

I love digi painting! I love the control over layering. Often with "real" paint, I get dark muddy backgrounds. With digi paint, you can rearrange, resize, recolor even delete paint layers.

I'm playing with a art journal kit from NBK Designs. This kit includes papers, paint brushes, artsy bits and styles that will change any element you desire. The nice thing is that I will enjoy many hours playing with this kit and it won't ever get used up. The paint won't dry. The paper will always be available. Have I said how much I love digi painting?

This one is unfinished. You can see some of the elements/layers. So far, it has about 10 layers. The first one has 38 layers plus one photo. I played with it for about 3 hours. With "real" paint, it would have taken much longer to allow time for paint to dry.

And ... there is no clean up. No painty fingers to scrub. No art table to clear off.

True, it will never FEEL like real paint. But I'm hoping printing it on canvas will give it some texture.

And because it's Monday, here is a collage. This is using a template by Scrapping With Liz. Here is the template.

And here is my piece, which I'll like to Mosaic Monday. I often play with digi templates; it's another version of not having to face the blank page.
A couple of weeks ago, I blogged about my obsession with coloring. The patterns for this piece are taken from those pages.

I hope you have a creative week. It's very HOT here in Southern California ... so I'll be trying to stay cool.

You really get to use your imagination with this type of art! And I love the pretty color combinations! Just beautiful! Makes me want new colored pencils or markers! Hugs!

How fun is this! Had never heard of digi-painting. But we did print one of my photos (of sunrise over the lake we used to live on) on a canvas tryptych ... it looks pretty good on our wall in Florida . It's really fun to learn all the new things we can do with modern technology!
