Another book

I used a “scrap” from the Music Maker book to create an accordion book. Using watercolors on the painted paste paper, I drew symbols and figures to create the visual for a story.

I then added this poem by Langston Hughes.

Hold fast to dreams
for if dreams die,
Life is a broken-winged bird
that cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams
for if dreams go,
Life is a barren field
frozen with snow.

I love this poem and it seemed right for the book.

Amazing work, Jan....found you through Jill Berry's blog. I've taken a few classes from her as well and she's able to translate teaching in to such an experience where you can create some wonderful books, as you obviously did last week.
