So, here is the piece soaked in spray starch and scrunched up in the cup.

And here we are dried and patted out. It doesn't look as wrinkled as Nellie's.










Here's another view.


And here it is based to the batting and back fabric. Ready for quilting! I don't see the ridges and wrinkles I see in Nellie's, so I'm not sure about how this will turn out.

Sometimes we are not satisfied with our work. But I think we are learning and learning from doing and that is a beautiful journey!!

When you beginning stitching the wrinkles will get more defined. I remove the starched piece from the cup before it is fully dried. It is gently pulled "open". When it is layered with the batting, I gently pat it into place to keep lots of wrinkles in the surface.
