Progress

Well, here is the piece with lots and lots of embroidery threads. It’s not coming together for me yet. However, I’m trusting the process. Next I’m going to add couched yarns.

What I do love is the process (except for my sore thumb). With each pass through the piece, I’m reminded of the many paths of our life, the journeys, good and bad, the ups and downs, highs and lows. So the process of stitching has become very meditative for me. My daughter’s 5th anniversary is this week and I’m also thinking of the many paths ahead for her …

Meanwhile, I have 3 weeks left of school and the countdown is on! I have very little time for art making right now. But I'm already planning my summer art projects and dreaming of days dedicated to art.

Glad to see your progress with the "crinkle" quilting.

To ease the stress on my thumb, I wear a finger cut off a latex glove. This makes it easy to grasp as well as to pull the needle through the layers. In fact, I use it for all hand stitching. I don't have a solution if you're allergic to latex.
