Island Girl For Peace

Finished … perhaps overdone. I think by adding the strands of “beaded braids” I went too far and the piece looks very busy to me.

But I do like some of the beading … the clusters of beading are new for me. I also like the way the colors pop against the black silk.

This is a Susan Sorrell inspired piece. I like the lutrador as a background – it’s quite a nice surface to work with, sturdy but easy to receive machine and hand stitching. It doesn’t give a “quilted” effect, more like a canvas.

I really like your peace girl piece! The beaded braids give a lot of interest and texture.
I haven't tried the lutrador yet...it's on my list of things to try.
